This paper aims at a thoughtprovoking study on concept analysis across the various methodological approaches and focusing on major aspects along this trajectory. It is understood that this process of analysing concepts is of vital importance for nursing, once it points out a logical and systematic organization of conceptions. This process contributes for the advance development of nursing theoretical knowledge once concepts emerge, are reformulated, refined and reassured, contributing for clarifying the gamut of emerging knowledge. The concept analysis is an intellectual exercise which helps the accurate definition of a concept to be used in nursing practice, theory, education and research.
