Abstract

During human development, adolescents experience organic, emotional, psychic and social growth modifications, which are many times the center of discussion among classmates. From a male perspective, we studied adolescent male thoughts on first-time ejaculation experience: when it occurred and, according to their perception, what changed in their lives. An open-ended questionnaire was applied to 111 individuals from 3 publicly-funded schools. Data results were analyzed as percentage, frequencies and thematic categories. Results showed that 64.9% of the participants aged 11 to 13 years responded accurately as to the date of their first ejaculation, evidencing its importance. Behavior modification was observed in 91 (82%) of the participants, being the reasons for life changes grouped in 3 categories: 1) evolved sensations or feelings; 2) knowledge on how to reach ejaculation and 3) expectations regarding ejaculation.
