Abstract

Objective: To translate, adapt, and evaluate the psychometric properties of the caregiver version of the Comprehensive Score for Financial Toxicity for the Brazilian context.

Method: A methodological study conducted between February and November 2025 in a medium-sized municipality in northwestern Paraná, Brazil. The process consisted of two sequential stages: translation and cross-cultural adaptation, following the methodological framework of the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy group; and psychometric evaluation of the Brazilian version, administered to informal caregivers.

Results: The scale showed good internal consistency, with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.868, indicating high homogeneity among the items, and the total omega was 0.790, a value considered adequate for unidimensional instruments.

Conclusion: The version of the Comprehensive Score for Financial Toxicity questionnaire for informal caregivers demonstrated confirmatory factor analysis, revealing an unifactorial structure with 12 items and presenting adequate fit indices, thereby supporting the proposed model.
