Tomada de decisão dos enfermeiros no Sistema de Triagem de Manchester

Resumo

Objetivo: Explorar as percepções dos enfermeiros sobre a tomada de decisão no Sistema de Triagem de Manchester, incluindo as implicações para a segurança do paciente e estratégias de melhoria.

Método: Realizou-se um estudo qualitativo e exploratório em um serviço de urgência do norte de Portugal. Por amostragem por conveniência, incluíram-se dez enfermeiros com mais de dois anos de experiência em triagem. Entrevistas semiestruturadas foram realizadas em maio de 2025 e analisadas por meio da análise de conteúdo de Bardin.

Resultados: A triagem foi percebida como um contribuinte essencial para a segurança do paciente, ao priorizar as queixas e definir tempos de espera apropriados. A tomada de decisão foi influenciada por fatores relacionados ao enfermeiro, fatores relacionados ao paciente, limitações do sistema de triagem e contexto organizacional. Entre as melhorias sugeridas incluíram-se auditorias, revisão de protocolos, avaliação estruturada da dor, integração de escalas de alerta precoce, formação/recertificação contínua, mentoria, melhor interoperabilidade dos sistemas de informação e medidas institucionais para reduzir as interrupções.

Conclusão: A tomada de decisão na triagem é multifatorial e requer desenvolvimento profissional contínuo e apoio organizacional.
