Abstract

Sucrose hydrolysis by ion exchange resins was realized. Kinetical data were determined in the temperature range from 50 to 70ºC and in feed concentration range from 10 to 50%, working with a tubular reactor. Resins used were Amberlite IR-118, Amberlite IR-120 and Amberlyst 15. TIle ocurrence of deviations from first-order kinetics under more drastic hydrolysis conditions has been confirmed These deviations concern with secondary reactions in the system that influence the intrinsic rate of the main reaction and also the diffusion. Rate constants for the first order reaction were dependent on solution concentration.
