Four different samples of Microdon ancylodon filets, commercialized in the city of São José do Rio Preto - SP, Brazil, were submitted to microbiological analyses. The results showed that the four samples (100%) did not fit the standards of federal and state legislations for this kind of product regarding the Staphylococcus level. The samples analysed were classified as "product with unsatisfactory higienic sanitary conditions", "product potencially causing foodborne intoxication" and, therefore, "improper for comsuption" (25%).Downloads
