Research of salmonella contamination of 744 samples of animal food products for public consumption, collected in the Curitiba city was realized. Twelve Salmonella at the typhimurium serotype were isolated. The frequency was higher in pork, lives samples up to 13.31% and 2.0% in sausages. AlI samples from bovine origin resulted negative. Poultry samples presented positive contamination of 0.71%.
