The electrometric, spectrophotometric and alizarin methods utilized in Santa Catarina State, Brazil, to determine the concentration of fluoride in water were compared. Significant differences among the three methods were detected. Nevertheless, statistic analysis showed that the three methods could be undistinguishedly utilized in the concentration of approximately 0.60 ppm.
