CrossFit is characterized as a physical practice that arrived in Brazil in 2009, gaining popularity nationwide and increasing the number of adherents/practitioners. With this growth, it becomes relevant to understand how this phenomenon has been addressed by national scientific production. This study aimed to analyze the scientific literature written in Portuguese and authored by researchers affiliated with Brazilian institutions on CrossFit. A total of 95 articles published in Portuguese were identified across the five main databases in the field, whose authors are affiliated with Brazilian institutions. Quantitative and qualitative analysis showed that the studies began to emerge in 2015, with a marked increase over the years. Additionally, the publications are distributed across 34 journals, 58 educational institutions, and involve 166 different authors (considering first and last authorship). A predominance of themes related to nutrition, health, and injuries was observed, while historical-cultural and sociodemographic perspectives are still incipient. It is concluded that scientific production on CrossFit in Brazil is expanding and must diversify its themes, approaches, and publication venues in order to broaden the development and quality of research in the area.
