About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Journal of the Latin American Socio-cultural Studies of Sport (ALESDE) (JLASSS) is focused on the continuing intention of this association to consolidate the assemblage and dissemination of studies of sport as a socio-cultural phenomenon. Sport has many contemporary meanings, expanded in its prospects and possibilities, subject to be analyzed in historical, sociological, anthropological, political, philosophical, economic, ethnographic and others approaches in the context of Latin America. It is proposed that the congregation of original research on topics relevant to the reality of sport in Latin American by one edition each semester, with opportunity for interpretative nature of work such as essays and reviews, in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Peer Review Process

After receiving a submission, the editors will make a preliminary assessment of the relevance and appropriateness of the article / paper to the focus and scope of the journal, as well as its format according to editorial guidelines.

If not approved, the editors will notify the authors of the manuscript by e-mail asking to do the necessary corrections.

If approved, the original manuscript will be sent for analysis of 2 (two) referees to the editorial board in double-blind system, which has the power to issue three (3) concepts: "approved for publication," "approved with corrections", "rejected for publication".

If the article receives an opinion "approved for publication" and another "rejected for publication" will be sent to a third reviewer to a final opinion.

If the article received an opinion "approved with corrections" and other "rejected for publication" will be rejected by publishers.

If the article received an opinion "approved with corrections" and other "approved for publication", or even two opinions "approved with corrections" will be sent to the author to provide the requested changes by the reviewers.

The author of the work will be notified of the decision via email.

The Journal of ALESDE reserves the right to make changes in the normative order, spelling and grammar in documents, in order to maintain the standard language of worship, but respecting the content and writing style of the author. When substantial modifications are required, the main author will be notified by email and instructed to do them.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its contents, following the principle that scientific knowledge be made freely available to the public a greater global exchange of knowledge.
