Intertextuality in cinematographic staging: The stage as spectacle in the film Anna Karenina

The purpose of this work is to point out the main characteristics of cinematographic mise-en-scène that were absorbed from theatrical language. The general objective is to verify the intertextuality between cinema and theater inserted in the creative process of the corpus, which dialogue with each other. The specific objectives are about deepening the perceived interconnections, whether in the mise-en-scène or in the physical space.To elucidate this study, the film work Anna Karenina (by Joe Wright, 2012) was selected as a corpus for analysis and exemplification. The comparative methodology focuses on the counterpoint between cinematographic and theatrical language. The general analysis of scenic elements is based on Jean-Jaques Roubine's definitions. The concepts of cinematic mise-en-scène are based on the theory of David Bordwell and Jacques Aumont
