Associação do sistema de hidrogel polimérico ao anticorpo LUP37C11 no tratamento do pavilhão auricular e poro acústico de cães com dermatite atópica

A dermatite atópica canina (DAC) é uma doença caracterizada por inflamação, infecções secundárias e prurido que frequentemente afeta os pavilhões auriculares e condutos auditivos dos cães. A atividade excessiva de algumas proteases, como a calicreína 7 (KLK7), tem sido reportada como anormalidade característica que contribui para o defeito da barreira epidérmica em pacientes com DAC. O presente estudo avaliou a apresentação, formulação e efeitos adversos de um sistema de hidrogel polimérico. Utilizou-se o sistema de hidrogel polimérico puro e em associação ao LUP37C11 (anticorpo anti-KLK7 humano), no tratamento tópico do pavilhão auricular e poro acústico de cães não atópicos e de cães diagnosticados com DAC. Os tratamentos foram instituídos com o LUP37C11 na concentração de 1 µg/mL em veículo de hidrogel polimérico no pavilhão auricular e poro acústico em uma orelha e somente o hidrogel polimérico na mesma região da orelha contralateral. Os tratamentos foram randomizados e realizados em “duplo-cego”, com aplicações diárias dos produtos em cada orelha durante 8 dias consecutivos. A região tratada foi avaliada através de citologia para a presença de células inflamatórias, bactérias e leveduras (Malassezia spp.), e quanto a presença de eritema, edema, erosão/ulceração e exsudato, de acordo com o Índice de Pontuação de Otite (OTIS3). Os tratamentos empregados não apresentaram efeitos adversos. Para os animais atópicos, foi observado diferença significativa (p=0,002) no fator tempo, com melhora nos resultados pós-tratamento para ambos os grupos, que se mostraram sensíveis aos tratamentos através do OTIS3. Porém, não houve diferença significativa (p>0,05) entre pré e pós-tratamento.
