Abstract

The article focuses on analyzing the implications of evaluation in higher education. To recover the trajectory of this discussion of evaluation in Brazil since its beginning in the context of the military regime goes through during the debate in the period of the return o democracy and the proposition of a Plan of institutional Evaluation of Brazilian Universities. Finally examines the contours that the assessment is in the 1990s and the limits and possibilities of building a culture of assessment within the regulation of Evaluation system of Higher Education - sinaEs.
