This article aims to carry out an analysis of the Indo-Pakistani conflict with a focus on issues relating to the nuclear challenge of States. It assesses the decision of India and Pakistan to continue the development of nuclear technology for military purposes, and its impact on regional and global security. As for the research question, it seeks to demonstrate whether or not the Indo-Pakistani nuclear issue is a real threat at the regional and global level. The theoretical framework follows the Regional Security Complex Theory (RSCT) and the authors of the English School of International Relations. The applied methodology consists of qualitative research, based on a case study, where the analysis is carried out through United Nations resolutions and by specialized bibliographic production. It is concluded that the nuclear issue in the context of the conflict, in both States, due to the balance and reciprocal containment, contributes to contain hostilities at levels of less offensive potential, limiting the Indo-Pakistani issue to the regional level.
