Chile 2013: as eleições e a falência do modelo chileno

Abstract

Este trabalho analisa as recentes eleições no Chile e o questionamento do modelo neoliberal implantado na ditadura de Pinochet e mantido até o momento. Neste sentido, discute os fundamentos, características e resultados de tal modelo, apontando que sua falência é evidenciada pelos pífios indicadores sociais, pela insatisfação popular, pelos protestos sociais (estudantes, indígenas, entre outros) e pela afirmação da Nova Maioria. Em suma, as eleições chilenas de 2013 demonstram a necessidade de construção de um novo modelo que conjugue desenvolvimento com equidade, algo comum a toda a América Latina.
