Abstract

The objective of this study is to carry out an investigation into ASEAN's performance around the political crisis experienced in Myanmar, with an analysis around the coup military of 2021. The research methodology is the Case Study and to achieve the objective we resorted to a bibliographical review of the specialized literature and to the primary documental analysis of files available on websites of the organization and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the countries belonging to the association. From the analysis, we were able to conclude that ASEAN has exerted declaratory pressure through communiqués, incoherent and contradictory, characterized as insufficient to stop the “democratic” regression in Myanmar and allow a return to the “normality” of domestic politics.
