This study analyses the “reception” process as a strategy for reorganization of nursing care in basic health services of Belo Horizonte. It uses a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews and field observation applied to nursing professionals. Five nursing auxiliaries and five degree-nurses, from three health centers, were interviewed. The data pointed out the lack of qualification of nursing auxiliaries as to the proposals for reorganization of assistance. The importance of management for team integration was shown as crucial. One could notice that such practice signalizes the reorganization of the health work process, allowing the implementation of nursing care in direction of humanized assistance.
