Abstract

The purpose is to present an investigative approach called Converging Care Research (CCR) and its

application in Brazilian nursing settings. Tracking down the period between 2000 and 2006 has shown that this approach

(CCR) was used as a methodological reference in research projects mostly in 5 university libraries, in 11 different journals

and 5 annals, entailing 89 publications. Among them, 53 were master’s dissertations, 6 doctorate theses, and 30 research

papers published as articles. Such publications revealed that investigation focuses were on: work accidents, care

systematization, nursing consultations, education, work process, and violence, among others. Regarding the areas, the

following were covered: child-mother, education, psychiatry, collective health, and work safety. It was concluded that the

CCR approach is becoming a socially acceptable investigation, with broad compliance to care delivery practices, and

showing signs of change in the Health Service nursing practices.
