ROOTING OF KIWI CULTIVARS WOODY CUTTINGS

The present work was carried out with intention to verify the rooting of kiwi cultivars woody cuttings. Woody cuttings of Hayward, Monty, Abbott, Allison, Tomuri and Bruno cultivars were collected in the end of July, standardized with 20 cm in length and basal diameter of 0.8 cm, we performed a straight cut at the apex of the cutting and another in the base. After incisions were made at the base of the cutting, they were immerged for 10 seconds in IBA (indol butyric acid) at 8000 mg dm-3. The cuttings were buried in sand, in a greenhouse and after 90 days it was concluded that the cutting of kiwi cultivars differ as the budding and rooting and that the cuttings of Allison cultivar, had presented better results of the rooting and sprouting percentage.
