Enteroparasitas em estudantes de quintas séries do Colégio Estadual de Terra Boa, Campina Grande do Sul, Paraná (Sul do Brasil)

Durante os anos de 1999 a 2001 foram realizados exames parasitológicos de fezes em 202 estudantes de quintas séries do Colégio Estadual de Terra Boa, em Campina Grande do Sul, região metropolitana de Curitiba, Paraná (sul do Brasil). Estudou-se a prevalência das enteroparasitoses, bem como a relação das mesmas com os hábitos de higiene das crianças. Constatou-se que 55,4 % dos alunos encontravam-se infectados com pelo menos um parasita e os parasitas mais freqüentes foram:Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura e Entamoeba coli, com 31,2 %, 22,3 % e 15,8 % de prevalência, respectivamente. As crianças infectadas foram encaminhadas para tratamento médico e foi realizado, paralelamente, um trabalho educativo sobre noções de higiene e profilaxia das parasitoses envolvendo alunos, professores e a comunidade local.
ABSTRACT
During 1999 and 2001 parasitological analysis in 202 students from Terra Boa School, in Campina Grande do Sul, Paraná were made. The prevalence of the parasites and the health habits of the students were taken. 55.4 % were infected by, at least, one parasite and the most prevalents were: Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura e Entamoeba coli, with 31.2 %, 22.3 % e 15.8 %, respectivelly. The infected students were directed to medical treatment. Along with the research, there was an educational work held by students, teachers and community in order to teach hygiene and to prevent parasitoses.
RÉSUMÉ
Entre les années de 1999 et 2001 létude des parasites des 202 étudiants de lÉcole Terra Boa, à Campina Grande do Sul, Paraná, a été fait. On a analysé la fréquence des parasites et les habitudes hygiéniques de ces étudiants. 55,4% ont été infectés par, au moins, un parasite et les plus trouvés étaient: Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura et Entamoeba coli, avec les frequences de: 31,2%, 22,3% et 15,8% respectivement. Les élèves infectés ont été orientés chez le médecin. Avec cette recherche, il y avait un travail éducatif fait par les étudiants, professeurs et la communauté pour instruire sur limportance de lhygiene et la prevention des parasites.
