Estudo retrospectivo de revisão das principais neoplasias do tecido neural em cães

Resumo

As neoplasias do tecido neural são pouco relatadas na espécie canina, e incluem diferentes tipos e subtipos histológicos, como o meningioma, astrocitoma, oligodendroglioma, tumor do plexo coróide e ependimoma, sendo o último um dos mais raros. Em geral, esses tumores afetam animais de meia idade, sem predisposição sexual comprovada. Em relação as raças, existe uma variabilidade extensa, entretanto parece haver um maior acometimento na raça Boxer, além dos cães sem raça definida. A finalidade desse estudo foi realizar uma revisão sistemática integrativa acerca das principais neoplasias do tecido neural em cães. Foi efetuado uma busca acerca das principais neoplasias do tecido neural em cães, nos bancos de dados PubMed, Scielo, BVS e Google Acadêmico. O meningioma foi o tipo histológico mais relatado, somando 535 casos; seguido pelo glioma com 199 casos divididos em astrocitomas e oligodendrogliomas; tumor de plexo coróide com 120 casos e ependimoma 19 casos. Não houve predisposição sexual evidente. A idade média observada foi de 8 anos, embora tenha sido observada ligeira variação entre os diferentes diagnósticos. No que diz respeito as raças, cães braquicefálicos e animais sem raça definida, além dos Boxers, foram os mais descritos. Através do presente estudo, foi possível reafirmar a prevalência dos meningiomas, seguidos pelos gliomas, bem como a superioridade na incidência da raxa Boxer, além disso, podem também afetar uma ampla gama de idades, desde animais de meia-idade à senis. Contudo, demonstra-se também que há contradições em relação a outras descrições, sendo necessário a continuidade em pesquisas.
