Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The text was written using all the settings of the template provided; it uses Arial font, size 10, with justified text. Line spacing is single and 10 points between paragraphs; it uses italics instead of underlining (except in URL addresses); figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document as attachments.

Author Guidelines

All articles must follow the guidelines and formats set out in the template available on the journal's website.

Articles with up to two authors are accepted. If there are three or more authors, the role of each author must be justified in comments to the editors. For example, empirical research, whose data were collected in several institutions by several researchers. In these specific cases, APA standard 7: requires the indication of the surnames and initials of up to 20 authors in the bibliographic references. Throughout the text, only the first two surnames, followed by et al. (date).

  • Include the full URL of the ORCID identifier in the registration of all authors;
  • All submitted texts must strictly follow the formatting indicated in the template;

All manuscripts must contain:

- Title in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

- Abstract in English, Portuguese and Spanish; with the respective keywords (minimum three, maximum five).

The following sections are recommended and indicated in the template:

  1. INTRODUCTION - Description of the research topic in order to enable the construction of the problem and presentation of the research objective and the theoretical framework adopted. It should present the research scenario in a succinct manner in order to include a review of key works in the area that contribute to demonstrating a possible gap in the construction of the research problem. Clearly describe and identify the research problem. Present the theoretical framework adopted to investigate the identified problem.
  2. METHODOLOGY - Qualitative and/or quantitative discrimination of the research with the description of the methodological framework used for both data collection and analysis. Observe the need and rigor of the methodology in describing and discriminating the materials and methods, the control group, the experimental group, the sampling, etc. Finally, what? where? how? with whom? with what? were the studies methodologically carried out employed. This will ensure the reader a detailed presentation of how the research was carried out. The same applies to the organization of research data, which can be grouped into categories; presented in tables, and other forms of organization to facilitate data analysis and better understanding of the research conducted.
  3. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION - detailed analysis of the data collected with a focus on the presentation of results. The discussion should connect the study with current and relevant topics in the area, presenting relevant and clear implications for the teaching of physics. The interpretations should be aligned with the data collected and the analyses conducted (deductive method), not going beyond the limits of what is possible to measure through the work methodology (induction). Limitations of the study should be presented, opening up possibilities for new research.
  4. CONCLUSION - presentation of the conclusion of the investigation, revisiting the research problem and highlighting the main points and the answer presented with their implications for the area of physics teaching.

- ACKNOWLEDGMENTS - if applicable, cite and indicate individuals, institutions, funding agencies, etc. Otherwise, delete them from the manuscript.

- REFERENCES - must be in APA 7th edition.

Artigos de pesquisa

RBPEF accepts continuous submissions of articles related to original research on Physics Education and the journal's editorial line. There is no maximum limit to the number of pages, but editors or referees may suggest reducing the length if the article is excessively long. Authors must follow the single template made available for all sections of the journal, which contains all the required formatting and information provided in the Guidelines for Authors.

After submission, the article is submitted to two processes. In the first, Desk Review, the articles will be scanned by a similarity software (CopySpider) and evaluated by the editor-in-chief or associate editors to determine whether they meet the scope of the section. In the second, the text will be submitted to two reviewers, each with a doctorate degree in the area of research of the section, through the double-blind peer review process.
