About the Journal
The Brazilian Journal of Research in Physics Teaching, linked to the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) - Palotina Sector, is intended for the publication of unpublished research on Physics Teaching, especially originating from postgraduate programs. The main objective of the journal is to disseminate, openly and free of charge, original and relevant research on Physics Education for the entire research community.
Its publication is continuous, annual and arbitrated in a double-blind peer review process. The journal will only accept original articles that have not been previously submitted to other journals and periodicals by any means.
All sections of the journal must adhere to the following policies:
Articles must be original, with theoretical and methodological development relevant to the theme of each section, aiming to present a solution and/or approach to the problem addressed, and clearly indicate the main contribution(s) to the field of Physics Education.
Peer Review Process
Articles submitted to one of the six (6) sections of the Brazilian Journal of Research in Physics Education (RBPEF) will be evaluated as follows:
Stage 1: Desk Review: The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors will conduct an initial assessment of the manuscript based on the author guidelines, the journal’s research ethics and integrity policy, and its aims and scope. At this stage, articles will also be scanned using similarity detection software (CopySpider).
Therefore, manuscripts will be returned to authors if they:
- Are experience reports, have a prescriptive character, or are presented in a tautological manner;
- Consist solely of a literature review;
- Present only descriptive metric studies without an in-depth analysis of the results and do not provide access to research data;
- Are presented as systematic literature reviews without an objectively and comprehensively described methodology, lack in-depth analysis of results, and do not provide access to research data;
- Are written in the form of a project or research report;
- Lack theoretical or methodological consistency in the research described;
- Are merely descriptive and do not provide a sufficiently in-depth analysis of the topic under discussion;
- Do not contribute to the field of Physics Education;
- Contain numerous writing errors, deviate from the journal’s editorial standards, and/or are not formatted according to the provided template;
- Do not present results, formulations, or conclusions that advance the proposed topic.
The evaluation period for Stage 1 is up to 20 (twenty) days.
