The Achilles’ wrath and the sensibilities to the violence in Ancient Greece

The author examines the issue of Achilles’ wrath, as expressed in his treatment of the Hector’ corpse, first as it is described in the Iliad, and then how it is represented in the Attic vases. It is argued that the theme was understood differently by the ancient Greeks, showing different sensibilities to war, in general, and to violence, in particular, and therefore different identities.
