Abstract

The objective of this article is to present the analysis of the effects of sense in the speech Admonishments by Francis of Assis, that propitiates a view of the socioreligious context that Francis wanted to transform through his teachings, as well as of the new world that he longed for in the medieval urban society from the period of 1206 up to 1226. Through the theoretical presuppositions framed in the field of knowledge of the Analysis of the Speech, the effectiveness of the speech was explained by the scene’s enunciation and also by the structure of symbolic power of the speech. With that, we intend to understand the present time of Francis of Assis, man of the XIII century, considering him as an authorfounder of a speech, that perpetuated his recognition as example of Christian perfection starting from a way of life of voluntary poverty and of service to the social excluded people.
