Abstract

Work study of the art historian Aby Warburg, form his analysis, composed in 1902 and entitled Florentine bourgeoisie and portrait Art. Aby Warburg is especially known as founder of the Warburg Institute: research center originally headquarted in Hamburg, and later transferred to Englang, where it was incorporated to the University of London. Warburg Institute directs its study focus to the art and the Renaissance culture. Aby Warburg, in his 1902 analysis, tackles the historic problem of the renaissance in the Antique Florence of the second half of XV century, from a fresco painted by Domenico Ghirlandaio, in the Saint Trinity Church, in which are portrayed important characters of the Florentine Republic during the government of Lorenzo de Medici.
