Abstract

The paper begins aims at studying the Rome History just before Constantine
ruled the Empire, considering that Constantine is considered as a
direct heir of his four predecessors. The main source is the coins issued
by Tetrarquia and Constantine, both collections stored at the National
Historical Museum at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The paper emphasizes the
importance of using a variety of historical sources, such as iconographic,
archaeological, and art historical.
