Abstract

Taking into account our concern over the results of research carried out in Nursing, this paper aims to reflect
the impact that this research makes on professional practices. Therefore, we have approached the researchers’ education
process for research, the research itself as a tool to improve practice, and the socialization of their results by the search of
the production in CNPq Lattes System of 444 nurses with master’s degree qualified on public universities of South Region
between 1995 and 2005, and the application of research results to practice. We identified that 139 nurses with master’s
degree did not presented any publication. The knowledge production in Nursing is a strategy to improve its professional
practices. In this process, emphasis is given to the ethical dimension, starting from the definition of the research question,
the need to socialize the findings, and their incorporation into professional practices.
