In this article, I analyze how the interior of the body becomes visible in medical images through the technology that, for the first time in history, brought the invisible interior to the field of visibilities: radiography. Therefore, my starting point are the screens that, as producers and recording surfaces from the interior of medical images, connect as different materialities involved in the preparation of the exam. Thus, I describe the technical-machinic-organic relationships that discipline, record and sustain the interior of the body in chest radiographic images. Thus, my objective is: (1) to investigate the handling of bodily boundaries between inside and outside and (2) to understand how medical images create bodily and diagnostic realities. Establishing a dialogue with the debates on medical images, this article seeks to contribute to reflections on materialities, placing the physical space of the visible interior body as entangled with the agents that produced it.
