Comunicações Alteradas – festa e xamanismo na Guiana

Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre os modos de comunicação ritual na Guiana indígena, partindo de exemplos colhidos entre os Wajãpi, grupo tupi-guarani que vive na fronteira do estado do Amapá com a Guiana Francesa. Esses modos podem ser encontrados nas chamadas festas de caxiri e nas sessões xamânicas. De um lado, a embriaguez propiciada pela bebida fermentada, de outro, uma espécie de viagem da alma (ou metamorfose do corpo) potencializada pela ingestão de tabaco. Nesse último caso, a conjunção entre agentes humanos e sobrenaturais pode ocasionar uma ruptura no tecido das relações humanas.
