João Rickli é doutor em Antropologia pela Universidade Livre de Amsterdam, Holanda (2010), com pós-doutorado nesta mesma instituição (2011), na PUCRS, em Porto Alegre (2012) e no Museu Nacional/UFRJ, no Rio de Janeiro (2017). Desde 2013 é professor do Departamento de Antropologia e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Antropologia da UFPR
