Abstract

Esta pesquisa busca investigar o Beach Tennis. Modalidade esportiva em franco desenvolvimento no Brasil e internacionalmente, este esporte de raquetes apresenta crescimento sensível quanto ao número de adeptos e simpatizantes, o que vem a contribuir para seu desenvolvimento, popularização e difusão. Neste contexto, a presente pesquisa, após historiar o surgimento do Beach Tennis e realizar uma revisão da literatura, objetiva levantar o que se tem produzido academicamente sobre a evolução e crescimento do Beach Tennis, a fim de, posteriormente, orientando-se pela abordagem qualitativa de investigação, discutir o posicionamento da literatura face à realidade, a fim de compreender o desenvolvimento do esporte.
