This paper has the following goal: to outline, through a qualitative analysis, the characteristics of the construction of sport news on the editorial of the newspaper "Folha de São Paulo". The conclusion is that the sport section of this paper emphasizes information, with primarily descriptive news. There are stories and reports that can be considered of an investigative nature, focusing mainly on sport politics, but those are not regular or thorough.
