This study aimed to analyze the development of the ‘Força no Esporte’ Program (PROFESP) as a national public policy, coordinated by the Brazilian Navy and Army in the Brazil-Bolívia border region, based on the discourses of those involved. Beyond its conceptual framework, the work describes qualitative field research, conducted through semi-structured interviews with teachers/monitors, students, and coordinators. The collected data were evaluated using Bardin´s (1997) contente analysis, primarily to identify agreements and disagreements in the participants´s discourses regarding the Program´s applicability in the studied border region. It is concluded that PROFESP stands out as a crucial tool for mitigating social vulnerability risks through sport pratictice, fortering social interaction among beneficiaries and promoting the integral development of children and adolescents. However, considering the program information and the analyzed period, it was also highlighted that the pandemic (2020-2022) caused setbacks for all involved, especially due to the discontinuity of actions in the region.
