This essay aimed to reflect, from the perspective of athletes from a grassroots female football club in Paraná, on the use of qualitative performance analysis in the athlete development and training process. To achieve this, the study employed observations and structured interviews with athletes from a female football club in Paraná, under the Sub-17 category. The analysis meetings held with the athletes during the championship proved to be very important for understanding the concepts and principles expected by the coach, positively impacting the competition results. The study participants reported various benefits that this process brought to their development, providing a different view of the game and allowing them to notice errors, successes, and possibilities they couldn’t perceive during a match. Although the remote analyses were useful, the athletes suggested improvements, such as a preference for in-person meetings, the provision of supporting materials, and the conduct of individualized analyses.
