The new sport practices generally are the expression of alternative ways of social organization and space in a city and being manifested in appealing modes in urban spaces. Based on the field work of our Master's Thesis in Body Education (Faculty of Humanities - UNLP) referred to skate in the city of La Plata, we try to analyze the so-called "new" sports practices from a gender perspective. The starting point is the observation that the majority of those practicing skate in the city of La Plata are male. Through insights gathered through the interviews, we see how the discourses of young skaters are embodied of prejudices and preconceptions. We are interested also in how practice spaces are occupied and distributed, in which appear to be "gendered". In the same vein, the new skate parks being built in the city should be raised from its conception as open to women, to mixed practices and to facilitate the improvement of relations between men and women. Promote inclusionary citizenship should be an objective from the sporting public policy and decision-makers.
