The general objective of this work is to investigate how the literature on the career and dual career of judokas presents the difficulties and challenges of reconciling dedication between sport and studies. The nature of this study will be a theoretical essay on the dual career in judo, developing the concepts of career, academic career and sports career. The main results are: only a few clubs offer training and salary structures for judokas; sports institutions and regulatory bodies do not have proposals for the development of a dual career and post-career guidance; Opportunities in elite judo are unequal and polarized.
