LAS CONCEPCIONES QUE HACEN ESTUDIANTES DE PSICOLOGÍA SOBRE LA CIENTIFICIDAD DE LA DISCIPLINA.

El objetivo de este estudio fue explorar las percepciones y actitudes de los estudiantes de psicología hacia la disciplina como ciencia, identificando cómo factores socioculturales y pedagógicos influyen en la valoración de su cientificidad. Se evaluó a 205 estudiantes de una universidad pública mediante la Psychology as Science Scale (PAS) y el cuestionario Conocimiento y Modelos Científicos, utilizando escalas tipo Likert. Se compararon respuestas entre estudiantes de semestres iniciales y terminales mediante pruebas ANOVA y t, considerando también la influencia de promedios académicos. El 41% de los participantes reconocen la psicología como ciencia en un nivel medio, aunque el prestigio social que le otorgan es inferior al de las ciencias exactas. Los estudiantes avanzados muestran una visión menos idealista sobre la predictibilidad y validez de las teorías psicológicas. Asimismo, el 92.7% valora la experimentación como esencial en la formación en psicología. Factores como el contexto sociohistórico son considerados relevantes para el desarrollo del conocimiento científico. Los resultados destacan la necesidad de integrar la filosofía e historia de la ciencia en la enseñanza de la psicología para fortalecer su reconocimiento como disciplina científica. También se evidencia la influencia de concepciones erróneas provenientes de la psicología popular y la desinformación en medios.
