Abstract

The article focuses on the concept of modern discursive space, defined by Vinicius de Figueiredo based on an analysis of the Kantian Critiques, in order to verify its presence, albeit in germ, in the pedagogical-philosophical project adopted by the Brazilian author and in his works related to this theme. The hypothesis behind the research is that the Brazilian author’s commitment to teaching philosophy which, while allowing freedom of approach between universal philosophical questions and the prosaic lives of teachers and students, requires a strong grounding in classical texts and knowledge of the history of such questions (and not the history of authors in a timeline) follows a similar approach to his interpretation of the relationship between the categories of imagination and understanding in the formation and justification of the existence of such a discursive space, with a constant dialog between these elements in his work.
