Abstract

The aim of this study was to verify how the reordering of the Socio-Educational System reflected in the practice of psychology professionals who work with adolescents in social-educational internship measures. Seven professional psychologists who work for the freedom-deprived adolescents’ assistance team participated in this study. Data were collected through semistructured interviews and submitted to content analysis. A change in these professionals’ conceptions was noticeable, but this does not yet configure a new model of professional practice. The psychologist still faces many hardships to produce a significant change in their practice, and the redirection proposed by SINASE is not clear in their reports. It emphasizes the need for a change in professional identity, recognizing other possibilities of action beyond the clinical- private model.
