About the Journal
Focus and Scope
INTERAÇÃO EM PSICOLOGIA is a Brazilian journal associated with the Psychology Department of the Federal University of Paraná (Universidade Federal do Paraná, UFPR). Edited since 1997, it publishes articles with original and significant contributions in any area of Psychology every four months. Authors are solely responsible for the published articles and the opinions and judgments presented on their works do not reflect the positions of the Editorial Board.
Interação em Psicologia is an open access journal and, as such, does not charge submission, publishing or access fees.
The aim of Interação em Psicologia is to turn scientific knowledge in Psychology accessible community-wide and is aimed towards academics, researchers, professors and others interested in that area of knowledge.
Peer Review Process
Once submitted, the article will be evaluated in order to assess its adequacy to all the journal requirements. If any requirement is not met or if the manuscript is not within the scope of the journal, the article will be rejected, the submission will be archived and the authors will be notified.
If the manuscript is approved in this initial evaluation, it will be assigned to one of the associated editors, who will be responsible for the review of the article, based on the double-blind review system, supported by at least two ad hoc reviewers.
The reviewers will provide feedback about the reviewed manuscript, including an indication of what will be done with the article. When the associated editor receives the reviews of the ad hoc reviews, the editor will issue an editorial decision that can be expressed in four different conclusions:
a) Article accepted: The article will be published in the journal after the necessary editorial procedures.
b) Revisions required: The article will be accepted in case that it is revised according to the recommendations made by the editor and reviewers.
c) Resubmit for review: The article will be revised according to the recommendations made by the editor and reviewers, but after being revised it will be reviewed once more by the ad hoc reviewers.
d) Article declined: When the editor understands that the changes necessary to the acceptance of the manuscript are very extensive or if there are other reasons that the editor believes to be relevant, the article will not be published by the journal.
Cases of disagreement or controversies will be discussed by the authors and the editorial board with the aim of solving potential conflicts. In such cases, the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines will be followed, but the editorial board is responsible for the final decision.
In order to access information regarding formatting of the article and the documentation required, authors must access the document provided in the link: “Guidelines to Authors”.
Academic plagiarism: To copy a study or part of it, from another author or even from the author’s own work, consists in plagiarism and is considered an unacceptable practice in academic publishing. It is the responsibility of every author to ensure that there is no plagiarism in their articles. Interação em Psicologia often uses plagiarism detection softwares in the initial evaluation of submitted articles. In case plagiarism by any means is identified or suspected, the procedures proposed by the Commitee of Publication Ethics (COPE - Plagiarism Flowchart) will be carried out.Publication Frequency
