Abstract

Freud’s statement that the psychoanalytical field research and clinic are developed simultaneously is taken in the present paper as a central issue to discuss the relations between psychoanalysis and university while focusing the difficulties faced by students and teachers in order to prepare for clinical work. Our experience as clinical supervisors of psychology undergraduate students, under the psychoanalytic approach, is based on the work of the analyst that cannot decline from his/her task of questioning the possibilities of a psychoanalytic clinic at the university environment while keeping the psychoanalytical ethical principles. Then, the present analyses the particularities that are related to the position of the student, the function of the supervisor and the place of knowledge. Finally, the paper presents the experience we have been developing during the last years in order to support the debate around clinic and university.
