DAS DEGENERAÇÕES INDUSTRIAIS ÀS TERRAS DISTANTES DO NACIONALISMO GENÉTICO: O INTELECTUALISMO DE CHARLOTTE PERKINS GILMAN (1860-1935) ATRAVÉS DE DUAS OBRAS.

Resumo

O artigo apresenta alguns resultados de uma pesquisa acerca da obra de Charlotte Perkins Gilman e sua atuação enquanto intelectual reformista da virada do século. Focando em dois romances, The Crux (1910) e Herland (1916) propusemos aproximações interpretativas entre os símbolos, personagens e paisagens contidos nessas obras e os contextos e disputas políticas da Era Progressista que eram indiciados e inventados nesses textos. Para tal, partimos das concepções propostas na abordagem dialógica de Dominick LaCapra (1983) e nos desafios que a escrita e a intelectualidade feminina impõe ao campo da História Intelectual.
