Abstract

The region of the Pontal do Paranapanema, west extremity of the state of São Paulo, is known in all Brazil due to the conflicts for land possession carried out by the MST (Brazil's Landless Workers Movement). It is also the region that presents the biggest continuous area of Semideciduous Seasonal Forest of the state, contained in the Morro do Diabo State Park. This portion of the forest is confined into a matrix of great pastures and agricultural occupation, and as any other countryside property, has to keep 20% of its area with forest covering, called Legal Reserve. In case that it does not exist, it has to be recomposed. Thus, the objective of this work is to carry out a floristic and phytosociological analysis of 15 hectares legal reserve in the Santa Zélia occupation area, county of Teodoro Sampaio, recomposed by an Agroforestry System. The study was made by sampling plots and the data was analyzed by the software FITOPAC. Sixty two species distributed in 29 families were collected, accomplishing a total amount of 724 individuals per hectare. The results show that the area possesses representative vegetation of the local biome and contain more species than the minimum amount demanded by the applied state legislation for reforestation areas which until 20 hectares.
