Abstract

Abstract

The solid waste of recycling paper industry has potential to be used both as lime and as a source of nutrients for agricultural crops and forestry. This work aimed to evaluate the effects of different doses of recycled paper sludge and top fertilization on the availability of micronutrients in Eucalyptus saligna Smith, based on a test with three-month-old seedlings transplanted to pots distributed in a 2 x 2 m experimental area. After homogenization of particle size and moisture content of the sludge, a completely randomized design with two factors (dose and top fertilization), and three repetitions was implemented, totaling eighteen samples of leaves and roots for each micronutrient. The higher dose of recycled paper sludge, the lowest was the manganese contents in the roots. In lesser intensity, top fertilization also decreased the availability of Mn root. The sludge and fertilization did not impair the plants availability of Fe, Zn and Cu.
