Influence of ambientalism on the productive forest policy: a perception from the social actors of the Paraná wood productive chain.

Abstract

This article aims at describing the influence of ambientalism in the increment of productive forest plantations in the State of Paraná. This was a theme comprising one of the objectives of a doctorate thesis presented in the Forestry Engineering Program at the Federal University of Paraná. It has been pictured the perceptions from all the agents involved in the whole wood production chain. Reflects a descriptive research based on data collected from the literature and inquiry form applied to selected groups: a government group (GOV), with 81 forms; a non-government group (N-GOV), with 76 forms; a farms group (PROD), with 97 forms. The results showed that the productive forestry policy of the State, as is the example of the federal government, has received influences from the environmentalist movement which in the last decades. Production, economic and social aspects were less considered, even though this segment is a significant alternative to contribute for social and economical success of small farmers. In relation to sustainability of the productive forest establishments, the farmers group considered that it can help to recover degraded areas, as well as to release the existing pressure on native forests.
