Abstract

This work dead with valuation, financial maturity, stumpage price and analyses some alternatives of investments for Tectona grandis reforestation in the country of Alta Floresta, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Financial mathematics analysis procedures have been used and showed that the value of the forest varies from US$ 5,000.00 to US$ 14,000.00 per hectare at the age of 25 years old. The financial maturity occurs from 14 to 20 years old, depending on the economic criteria and the interest rates used. The minimum stumpage price at 25 years places from US$ 19.49 to US$ 44.36 per m3. So, the results suggested that teak is a profitable business.
