Transição energética e grandes empresas de petróleo: o protagonismo das europeias na entrada no setor de renováveis
Resumo
O presente artigo propôs uma discussão acerca da transição energética a nível global, além de apresentar as estratégias adotadas pelas empresas europeias frente às estadunidenses e chinesas, e de mostrar como os negócios de óleo e gás (O&G) têm participado desse processo. Para isso, foi realizada uma caracterização da conjuntura atual da transição energética nesses três grupos e de como as majors têm se posicionado quanto a isso. Adicionalmente, foi feito o mapeamento de práticas adotadas especificamente pela BP, Equinor e TotalEnergies para tornar suas atividades de exploração e produção de O&G menos poluentes. A partir de uma abordagem metodológica qualitativa, foram utilizados dados disponibilizados pelas petrolíferas em questão. Como resultados, identifica-se a entrada mais agressiva das empresas europeias no mercado de renováveis e uma tendência por parte das petroleiras de adaptar refinarias com alto potencial de desempenho a atividades de produção de bioenergia, além de incorporar novos processos para ampliar a integração energética.
