Abstract

Review of bibliography on home care, identifying current tendencies in home care as a strategy for dehospitalization and humanization of care. IT identifies the nature, origins and practice of care, showing the very wide range of concepts of home care. Underline the importance of the concept which covers the family and the complexity of care practice in this new/old site – the home and come to the conclusion that nursing can contribute significantly to build and systematically organize this knowledge and practice.
