This study presents the first records of predation on cockroaches of the genera Epilampra and Chromatonotus (Blattodea) by spiders of the family Ctenidae in a natural environment within a Campo Rupestre area associated with the Atlantic Forest, in the Pico do Itambé State Park, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The interactions were observed on September 10 and 11, 2024, on the trunk of a tree and in the leaf litter layer, and are attributed to ecological niche overlap, considering the nocturnal behavior and shared microhabitats of the taxa involved. The occurrence of this trophic interaction expands our understanding of the diet of wandering spiders and highlights the role of cockroaches as a food resource in natural ecosystems. Furthermore, it reinforces the importance of Protected Areas in maintaining poorly documented ecological interactions, especially in regions of high biodiversity and endemism such as the Campo Rupestre.
